ASJ Pet Transport was started in 2013 to fill a need which was not being served: I discovered that many of the transporters out there are stacking crates in vans and transporting up to a dozen animals at a time. I felt that there must be a better, safer, healthier, more humane way.
I have always owned and hauled my own animals, from cats and dogs to piglets and goats. Most of the year I travel as far west as Ohio, as far south as the Carolinas, as far North as central Maine. We do not transport more than 3 animals, unless they are littermates. We provide sanitized, padded crates, fresh bottled water, and snacks. Cats have a disposable litter box in crate. All animals must have proof of current vaccinations. We do not transport for high-kill shelters as many of them ship dogs out the same day they come in without regard for health or vaccinations, and they generally do not keep their animals long enough to insure that they are not carrying anything contagious.
